  3. About the Apple System Profiler

  6. Apple System Profiler lets you gather information about the configuration of your computer. The information the Apple System Profiler reports is helpful if you place a call to the Apple User Assistance Center.

  8. If you have one of the computers listed below, we recommend that you install Apple System Profiler on your machine now.
  9.  
  10. • Power Macintosh 9500, 8500, 7500, 7200, 8100, 7100 and 6100 series. 
  11. • PowerBook 5300, 2300 and 190 series. 
  12. • Performa 5200, 5300, 6200 and 6300 series.

  14. To install, follow these steps:
  15.  
  16. 1. Locate the Apple System Profiler Installer. It is in the same folder as this document, inside the Apple Extras folder on the system software CD-ROM disc that came with your computer.

  18. 2. Copy the Installer onto your startup disk. (To copy, drag the Installer icon to your hard disk.)
  19.  
  20. 3. Double-click the Apple System Profiler Installer in your hard disk’s window.

  22. You’ll see a confirmation message when installation is complete. The Apple System Profiler is placed in the Apple () menu. To use it, open the Apple menu and choose Apple System Profiler.
